Making Payments

 

Once your account is created through Matchbox Residential, you can login to your account and set up online payments.

Online payment options include:

  1. Credit / Debit Card (convenience fee is 4.25% of payment amount)
  2. Checking/Savings ($2.60 convenience fee per transaction)

Matchbox also accepts the following forms of payment:

  1. Personal Check/Money Order/Cashier’s Check
  2. Bank Bill Pay Check
    • Monthly check payments to Matchbox set up through your bank
    • Checks submitted through Bill Pay are typically routed through the mail. The estimated time of delivery provided by your bank is not a guaranteed delivery date. Matchbox is not responsible for late payments due to delays in the postal service system.

Checks are processed by Chantilly Lockbox. Be sure to make checks payable to MATCHBOX REALTY and write your Name (Last, First), Unit Number, and Account Number on the memo.

Checks processed by Chantilly Lockbox are fee-free and have no associated processing fees.

Personal Check/Money Order/Cashier’s Check are accepted at the Matchbox office (Harrisonburg, VA), but a $10.00 administrative fee will be applied for processing payment. Check processing in our office may take up to 5 business days. 

 Post date, or the day you mail your check/money order, does not constitute payment and you are responsible for late fees assessed if we do not receive your payment on time via the postal service.  

Tenants are responsible for ensuring that payments are received on time, regardless of the payment method used. Please note that payment must be processed by the rent due date in order to avoid late fees. This includes payments made through commercial banking “bill pay” services, which often result in a physical check being mailed on your behalf, payments mailed in for processing, and payments submitted to the Matchbox office for processing. Delays in the postal service or processing may result in a late payment and late fees. To help avoid late fees—which may exceed standard payment processing fees—we strongly recommend enrolling in Auto Pay through the Tenant WebACCESS portal.
