All month long, Matchbox residents can enjoy a complimentary dessert with any visit to Sage Bird. You’ll have two sweet options crafted with local ingredients and fall flavors:
- Raspberry Sorbetto — a vegan, gluten-free treat topped with coconut flakes, lemon zest, and a lemon cookie.
- Apple Blossom Pastry — filled with spiced Shenandoah Valley apples and finished with whipped cream.

Why We Love Sage Bird
Founded by Amberlee and Zach Carlson, Sage Bird began as a small cidery making all of its cider in-house from Shenandoah Valley apples. Since opening in 2020, it has become a downtown staple, expanding to offer a wide variety of drinks, flatbreads, and desserts, all focused on local and gluten-free ingredients.
The taproom is used for live music, art classes, and monthly gallery shows that celebrate local creatives. Whether you’re stopping by for a drink, a bite, or a show, there’s always something happening at Sage Bird.
