Livery Lofts

The historic Livery Lofts building is now home to gorgeous apartments and lofts, as well as Bella Luna Wood Fired Pizza. While the essence of the building remains —showcased in its exposed brick and vaulted wood ceilings — the functionality for modern living has been thoughtfully integrated, including skylights, dense separation walls, custom doors, retro appliances, and amenities you have to see to believe. Located downtown, just one block from Court Square, these units are nearby downtown businesses and campus. Living at the Livery brings comfort, convenience, community together. Love where you live at Livery Lofts!

Historic Building
Ludwig Hirsch came to Harrisonburg in 1867 to build a life. By the early 1890’s he purchased the property on West Water and German (now Liberty) streets and constructed this building for the booming transportation needs. Horses were fed and hitched while folks did their business at the County seat of Rockingham. A hay loft was located on the second floor. The building was later remodeled by his sons to adjust to the advent of the automobile and various businesses were added in the building. Today, the former hay loft has been transformed into one-of-a-kind living quarters.
