Leasing Day Appointments – Scheduling Opens at 8am Thursday, October 10, 2024
JMU’s hottest place to live is opening for General Leasing on Friday, October 11!
This page will give you all the information you will need to start the process of living in luxury at Charleston Townes. Be sure to read through this page thoroughly and follow all the necessary steps prior to Leasing Day to avoid risking your spot in line.
The link to schedule your Leasing Day Appointment will go live at 8:00am on Thursday, October 10th. Leasing Day Appointments will be held every 20 minutes on Friday, October 11th from 9:00-5:00 PM. There will be two time slots available for each time frame to allow us to best serve you.
When scheduling your Leasing Day appointment, please know that the appointment slots are first come, first served. ONLY ONE PERSON PER GROUP NEEDS TO RESERVE AN APPOINTMENT. A MINIMUM OF TWO (2) PEOPLE MUST ATTEND THE IN-PERSON APPOINTMENT TO RESERVE A UNIT.
The following criteria must be met prior to your appointment:
- A completed application with Guarantor listed for all potential tenants.
- Groups of 4 will get priority on unit selection.
Example: Mark, John, Bill & Steve want to live together. Mark reserves an appointment slot for the group. Prior to the appointment, the four complete all necessary steps (below). Mark & Bill come to the Downtown Matchbox Office for their appointment and reserve a unit. They schedule an in-person meeting (“Lease Signing Appointment”) for the following week with the Property Manager and the entire group to sign their Lease. Mark, John, Bill & Steve sign their Lease and live happily-ever-after in the lap of luxury!
Step 1: Submit an Application Prior to Scheduling Your Leasing Day Appointment

EACH individual interested in setting up a signing appointment and signing a lease/securing a unit MUST have already submitted an online application and must list their Guarantor information in the application. Complete the application and pay the application fee HERE.
*Note: This application is good for one year and can be transferred to another Matchbox property if you do not sign a lease at CT.

Step 2: Schedule a Leasing Day Appointment to Pick Your Unit & Prepare to Sign Your Lease
Schedule a 20-minute Leasing Day appointment for Friday, October 11th.
SCHEDULE YOUR APPOINTMENT HERE
Please be aware that unit selection is first come, first served. Choosing an earlier appointment time will put you at an advantage for unit selection.
During this appointment you will select your preferred unit/layout and schedule an in-person meeting for the following week to sign your lease. Please note, you will need at least two (2) people at the Leasing Day Appointment to be eligible to sign a lease.
*You will need to arrive a minimum of 5 minutes prior to your appointment to ensure there are no backups in the line.

Step 3:
EACH individual will need to do the following tasks on your Online Account BEFORE coming to the Leasing Day appointment:
1) Have an updated schedule (class, work, clubs, etc). You will be scheduling a time to meet in-person the following week to actually sign your lease (“Lease Signing Appointment”). Please know ahead of time when you will have time available in your schedule to do so.
2) Look over our layouts (below) and know your preferred layout, town home, or location within the community. We encourage you to have 3-4 units chosen in case your preferred unit is already reserved.
**You will need at least two (2) people on Oct. 11th in order to set a Lease Signing Appointment to secure your home.

What You’ll Need for Your Lease Signing…

- A check or money order for security deposits & fees

All townhomes have the same layout/floor plan with the exception of 13 units that have a slightly modified floor plan. The modification for these units is the front entry door walks into the main level as opposed to the lowest level of the townhome.
