Pale Fire Brewing Company
Whether you’re a college student or a Townie, you’ve definitely heard of Pale Fire Brewing Co. and their delicious craft beer. What some folks may not know is that Pale Fire is much more than just a production brewery and a taproom. We sat down with Pale Fire’s Taproom Marketing Director, Susan Keeler, and General Manager, Jason McCall, to chat about what’s new in their taproom on Liberty Street.
Located in the historic Ice House building, Pale Fire has grown tremendously since they opened their doors in April of 2015. Pale Fire neighbors several commercial businesses and residential buildings at the Ice House Downtown and has made a name for itself as a one-stop-shop for a good time. Susan and Jason shared that, “Pale Fire is much more than just beer”. Its location in the heart of Downtown Harrisonburg makes Pale Fire a popular destination for folks to walk, bike, or drive for a drink, and most recently, a quick bite. They’re excited to announce they’ve expanded their drink menu from just beer to ciders, wines, and liquor. Not to mention, they’ve also started serving food from their pizza kitchen!
Pale Fire takes pride in being a place where people can create positive memories, whether it’s sharing drinks with friends or grabbing a bite to eat during a work meeting. Susan shares, “To get the space and infrastructure breweries need, you often have to look outside of a downtown area.” Because of Pale Fire’s location inside Harrisonburg’s historic Ice House, they have all of the space they need to have their full operation in one place in the heart of Downtown. Bringing new life and purpose to historic buildings has been a top priority for Matchbox over the years. We are thrilled that almost a decade after opening their doors, Pale Fire still provides the fun, friendship, and community that contributes to making Harrisonburg, “The Friendly City.”
